Robert Downey Jr. – ‘Iron Man 2′
He Plays: Mega-millionaire inventor Tony Stark, aka Iron Man.
Where Else You’ve Seen Him: As a more than usually dashing Sherlock Holmes, and a desperate drug addict in Brat Pack classic ‘Less Than Zero.’
Why He’s Hot: RDJ was a pretty boy back in the ’80s, but he’s grown into an incredibly handsome man. We love him even more now that he’s bulked up his bod to match that Holmesian brain. Anybody could be under that Iron Man suit, but it takes Downey Jr.’s superhero-like smarts to wear the maverick character of Tony Stark as well as he does. [SOURCE]

June 17, 2010: Robert Downey Jr. producing ‘Yucatan’ with wife
As the first project for the husband and wife production team of Robert Downey Jr. and Susan Downey, the duo will produce Yucatan, a heist film that the late actor Steve McQueen originally worked on, reports entertainment news website Deadline Hollywood.
Based on 1,700 pages of unearthed notes and storyboards assembled by McQueen, the story is set in Mexico’s Yucatan peninsula, where a team of thieves seek to find ancient buried treasure. Downey is expected to star in the film.
McQueen’s son Chad will executive produce. McG (Terminator Salvation) who previously was attached to the project back in 2007 may also be part of the production team.
Downey will be seen next in Due Date, a comedy by director Todd Phillips (The Hangover) with Zach Galifianakis and Jamie Foxx. He is set to shoot Gravity in 3D directed by Alfonso Cuaron (Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban), Guy Ritchie’s Sherlock Holmes sequel, and The Avengers as Iron Man/Tony Stark.
Also on his full schedule is Poe and Oz: The Great and Powerful, a prequel to the 1939 classic Wizard of Oz focused on the wizard, which Sam Raimi (the Spider-Man franchise) will direct; it was just announced that he passed on directing the next Spider-Man. [SOURCE]

Word over the last few days was that Sam Raimi was in negotiations to direct the Wizard of Oz prequel for Disney. Now Deadline has confirmed that a deal was finalized to make Oz: the Great and Powerful Sam Raimi’s next stint in the director chair since he removed himself from the Spider-Man franchise in January.
After the great success Disney had with Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland, the studio is hoping that Raimi can work the same type of magic with the Wizard of Oz prequel. The film will star Robert Downey Jr. as a circus wrangler who, thanks to a tornado, gets whisked away to the land of Oz where he gets mistaken for a know it all. [READ THE REST HERE]
