In a recent interview with Marvel’s Kevin Feige, it was mentioned that Tony Stark could be another James Bond sort of character: someone who could be recast with new actors to continue the legacy. Robert Downey Jr was asked about this idea while at the Tribeca Film Festival, to which he said he would “really hate for someone else to think they could step into my shoes.” An video of his comments on the subject can be viewed above, or you can read a detailed account of it at MTV. (He also talks a bit about Iron Man 3, including potential casting and the possibility of filming in China.)

To promote The Avengers, Robert Downey Jr and Mark Ruffalo (Hulk) have been paired up to talk business. In the above interviews by Access Hollywood, a few subjects are touched upon, namely that Robert is a “mole,” having revealed that they recently filmed an extra scene for the film. (Did they or didn’t they?) The two previous co-stars (they also acted together in Zodiac) have great rapport, evidenced in the playful banner even when Ruffalo shows off a bracelet and confesses that it was a bad idea to bring his 4-year-old daughter to the premiere of The Avengers.

A new, fully fleshed out trailer for The Avengers was released earlier today! Even if you haven’t been excited about the upcoming superhero film, I feel like this would have to change your mind. It’s action-packed and crisp, with highlights for nearly all of the assembled Avengers crew. Watch for the very last scene featuring Iron Man whirling around a corner — truly exciting! The Avengers comes out May 4th in the US, although be sure to check when it’ll hit theaters for your country as many are getting it before the States.

There’s still some mystery around the movie – namely, the villains – but speculations have been running rampant based on various clips in this trailer. The whole team is shown, and (of course) RDJ as Tony Stark has some great moments to shine among the rest of the magnificent cast.

When talking to Omelete, Robert Downey Jr. confirmed his interest in the upcoming film, Pinocchio, to (hopefully) be directed by Tim Burton. On Pinocchio: “I want to talk to him about it, yeah! C’mon, it’s Tim Burton.”

On Iron Man 3: “I think that we have an opportunity with the third Iron Man to make the best of the three, and maybe one of the better superhero movies that’s ever been made. But I think we have to remember what made the first one good. It was very character-driven. It was very odd. It was kind of outrageous. And so I think we have to have the courage to trust that the audience is really kind of cool, and smart.”
