Downey Jr. denies ‘Holmes’ injury

A representative for Robert Downey Jr. has dismissed reports the actor was recently injured while shooting the Sherlock Holmes sequel.

Production on the upcoming movie was said to have ground to a halt after Downey, Jr. was knocked in the eye by his co-star Jude Law while the pair rode in a horse-drawn carriage for scenes shot in London.

According to the National Enquirer report, medics were called in to attend to the actor’s swollen face, while Law was left apologising for the accident.

But a spokesperson for the star tells GossipCop.com the story is “total B.S. (bull s**t).” [SOURCE]

Robert Downey Jr. as Lestat? Anne Rice says yes

Given Hollywood’s mania for reboots these days and the continuing popularity of all things vampire, it’s sort of surprising that no one has yet come up with a concrete plan to bring Anne Rice‘s original beautiful, brooding bloodsuckers back to the screen. But on the off-chance there’s a producer looking to do just that, Rice already has her eye on a few leading men to play the original emo vamps Louis and Lestat, portrayed in Neil Jordan‘s visually sumptuous adaptation of her 1976 novel “Interview with the Vampire” by Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise respectively.

Nowadays, Rice says in a lengthy interview with the Vulture blog that Richard Armitage or Matt Bomer would be perfect for Louis — and Robert Downey Jr. for his seductive blond counterpart. “That would be wonderful,” Rice said of the idea of Downey portraying the role. “He is a great actor. He would bring the gravitas and the wit and humor and all of that to the part, and I don’t think he’s too old. I think if he had a blond wig and makeup, he would be a wonderful Lestat.” [READ THE REST HERE]

Robert Downey Jr. will be singing for his supper.

The actor is attached to star in a musical pitch that Warner Bros. just picked up from Brian Yorkey and Tom Kitt, the Pulitzer and Tony Award-winning composing team behind the musical “Next to Normal.”

Downey will also produce with Susan Downey via their Team Downey banner.

The story centers on two Broadway songwriters who find themselves creatively and financially bankrupt when their big-break musical flops. Searching for inspiration, they take jobs as counselors at the theater camp they attended as kids and hatch a plan for a big comeback. [READ THE REST HERE]

People have Robert on their site as one of the sexiest men alive. I added the picture to the gallery and this is what they say about him:

“Robert has a way of making everyone around him feel very special and comfortable,” Michelle Monaghan, his costar in Due Date, raves about the 44-year-old. “Whenever I see him, I walk away smiling. Those beautiful brown eyes may have something to do with it.”
