Site
Hey, everyone! My name is Kristina, owner of sites such as Aaron Tveit Fan, Bryan Fuller Online, Hugh Jackman Fan, and Lee Pace Odyssey. The owner of the site, Kayla, has stepped down from her position and has since passed the torch onto me; however, she will still be involved in helping the site as a co-web.
I’ve been visiting Downey Web for years, and I’m so honored – and excited! – to be taking over as the new webmistress/owner. After running my own site for Robert, I quickly realized that starting from scratch would be much too difficult, so I’m thrilled that this opportunity has presented itself. (Thanks again, Kayla!) In the coming days/weeks, I hope to catch up with some missed updates and expand the site by adding more content. Some aesthetic changes will also be made, such as new layouts.
I can’t wait to really start providing fans with all the latest on everything RDJ. Thanks for tuning in!

Congratulations to Robert & Susan!!
Oscar-nominated Actor Robert Downey, Jr., star of the “Iron Man” movies, and his wife Susan are expecting their first child together, his spokesman told Reuters on Wednesday.
The 46 year-old actor and his second wife met on the set of “Gothika” in 2003, and married in New York in 2005.
“Robert and Susan could not be more excited over this news. They can’t wait to welcome this new baby into their wonderful family,” Downey’s spokesman said in People magazine.
The baby is due early 2012.
Early in his career, Downey was plagued by problems with alcohol and drug use, and he even spent time in jail. He went through rehab and managed a career comeback in the 2000s, and he has credited Susan with helping him recover.
The actor has a 17 year-old son, Indio Falconer Downey, from his previous marriage to actress Deborah Falconer, to whom he was married for 11 years. They divorced in 2004.
Downey has previously received Oscar nominations for his roles in “Chaplin” and “Tropic Thunder” and is currently reprising his “Iron Man” role for the upcoming 2012 film “The Avengers.”

Robert Downey Jr. has admitted he was disappointed all the action scenes for ‘Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows’ were filmed at the end of the shoot.
Robert Downey Jr. was “grumpy” when he first started shooting ‘Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows’.
The 46-year-old actor – who reprises his role as Arthur Conan Doyle’s legendary detective in the second film in the franchise – enjoyed the “brutal” schedule of the first movie, and was disappointed the action shots were left to the end in the second instalment.
He told Empire magazine: “We had a brutal schedule last time, but it was so much fun, and we were kind of wondering if we could catch this thing on fire and make it work. And pretty early on we figured we were on to something. That is was an ass-kicker.
“And this time around, we only really started the action last week, which had me a little grumpy for a minute.”
Director Guy Ritchie accepts there was a “lot of wafflage” in the early days of the filming, while Robert’s co-star Jude Law – who plays Holmes’ sidekick Dr. Watson – admits the shooting schedule on the sequel was entirely different to the first film.
Guy said: “We shot a lot of waffle straight away. There was a lot of wafflage.”
Jude added: “It’s been completely the other way round this time. The first time, we got into the action from the get go, and at the end we were in New York shooting all the interiors. This time we were in Baker Street from day one.
“We’re joining dots.”
‘Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows’ is due to be released in December.

Robert Downey Jr. has admitted that he is extremely impressed with the abilities of The Avengers director Joss Whedon. The Avengers has been filming for several weeks now and Robert revealed that any reservations he had at the start of filming have now been cleared up by Joss.
Downey Jr. explained, “I tend to look at a scene and say ‘This is absolutely impossible, we can’t shoot this, it’s horrible. I can tell you 10 other movies it’s been in, I refuse.’ I usually start off the morning by refusing to do what I’ve signed on to do. So I brought that attitude, happily.” (more…)

Fresh from the New Mexico set of The Avengers, Robert Downey Jr. made a surprise appearance alongside director Jon Favreau at the Hero Complex Film Festival in Hollywood on Sunday. In full Tony Stark beard, hair and swagger, the actor, of course, spoke about the two films that were screening, Iron Man and Iron Man 2, but also the on-the-horizon third film, Iron Man 3, which will be helmed by director Shane Black.
Favreau and Downey talked about how the former Iron Man director will be helping the upcoming Iron Man director as well as some of the greatest difficulties, both serious and not, in creating the May 3, 2013 film. Check out what they had to say, and also read what Downey had to say about the first six weeks of shooting The Avengers, after the jump.
The Iron Man 3 talk got started when a fan asked if Downey could talk about Shane Black, who Downey previously worked with on Kiss Kiss Bang Bang. I’ll just run the transcript then extrapolate after. (more…)
