The 2011 Golden Globes was filled with superheroes last night, including Captain America and Thor, and the man behind Iron Man – Robert Downey Jr. – told Access Hollywood fans have something to look forward to when they assemble for the upcoming “The Avengers.”
Access’ Billy Bush caught up with Robert on the Globes red carpet on Sunday night, where he gave us the scoop on the highly anticipated Marvel movie.
“I think we’re going to do something extraordinary,” the actor told Billy when asked about “The Avengers.”
Robert explained that he’s met with his co-stars, Chris Hemsworth (Thor) and Chris Evans (Captain America) — who both presented together on Sunday night — and they plan on making a stellar movie that the fans have been longing to see.
“If we work really hard, I think we’ll have something worth it,” he continued.
While Robert joined his fellow stars for a good time at the Globes, Sunday night’s festivities did not signal a vacation for the big screen star.
“The funny thing is we’re almost done shooting the second ‘Sherlock’ movie, so we were just in London five seconds ago and we flew in to do this,” Robert told Billy, explaining he’s heading right back to England. “We have like three more weeks of shooting.” [SOURCE]

Actor Robert Downey Jr is to star in the new Dreamworks movie Peabody and Sherman.
Downey Jr, 45, will voice the role of the genius dog Mr. Peabody in the film, which was recently announced to staff at Dreamworks.
Mr. Peabody and his pet boy Sherman are known from the Rocky & Bullwinkle Show, where they travelled through time to find out interesting things about history’s notable figures.
The role of naive boy Sherman has reportedly not yet been cast, according to EW.
The film’s director Rob Minkoff said: ‘Certainly for Boomers, they’re in the sweet spot of our childhood animation memories, but beyond there it gets a little bit, well, not quite as familiar.’
Minkoff added: ‘Mr. Peabody is this genetic anomaly. He does have brothers and sisters, all of them non-speaking, no super-smart dogs. He’s an outcast, but has overcome it by being so great at so many things.’ [SOURCE]

Robert Downey Jr, star of “Sherlock Holmes”, “Ironman” and also a reformed drug addict taught Gwyneth Paltrow how to be an addict for her new role in “Country Song”.
Downey Jr was arrested on numerous occasions from 1996 through 2003 on drug related charges. In 1999 he explained his drug addiction to a judge in court. He said “It’s like I have a loaded gun in my mouth and my finger’s on the trigger, and I like the taste of the gunmetal.”
In the past he also admitted he had been addicted to drugs from the age of eight. He said his father, who was also an addict, had given the drugs to him.
In “Country Song” Paltrow plays a country star who rises back from that bottom in the new movie. [READ THE REST HERE]
